New York City is known for being one of the best culinary destinations in the world. No matter what type of food you enjoy most, you will find it in abundance here. With so many options, however, it can be difficult to know which restaurants to try. If you are looking for the best Chinese restaurants in NYC, read on to learn which ones to choose.

Shanghai 21

Shanghai 21 is a local favorite that has something for everyone. Located in Chinatown, you can enjoy a variety of traditional dishes as well as great ‘Americanized’ options that are very popular. The atmosphere is ‘classy-casual’ with nice decor and comfortable seating throughout. Whether you are taking the family out for a good meal, or going on a date, you will enjoy this establishment. While everything on the menu is delicious, the Wonton Soup is some of the best in the city so make sure to give it a try.

Kung Fu Little Steamed Buns Ramen

Kung Fu Little Steamed Buns Ramen is one of the most affordable Chinese restaurants in NYC, which is why we were shocked to see that it is also one of just a few Michelin rated options. This restaurant is best known for its traditional Chinese comfort food, especially their soup dumplings. These dumplings are widely considered not just the best in New York City, but perhaps the best in the country.

Dim Sum Palace

Dim Sum Palace is a great place for Asian cuisine. The menu has plenty of traditional options to choose from, including plenty of vegan and vegetarian friendly options. You can even choose gluten free meals, which make this an excellent place for people who love Chinese food, but are sensitive to certain ingredients. The prices are reasonable, and the overall atmosphere could almost be considered upscale. For those who want authentic Chinese in NYC, this is perhaps the best. We recommend trying the pan fried noodles, which are delicious.

Main Noodle House

Main Noodle House leaves all the frills and atmosphere out, but they keep the amazing flavors that Chinese food is known for. This is one of the best Chinese restaurants in NYC precisely because it is focused entirely on making some of the best tasting dishes you’ll find anywhere. The prices are great, and the service is excellent too. This restaurant is located just a couple blocks from Bryant Park, so it is convenient as well. They are a great value for lunch or dinner, and while everything was great, the Lo Mein is some of the best.

Dim Sum Go Go

Dim Sum Go Go is one of the most expensive restaurants on this list, but you do get what you pay for. This is another Michelin rated restaurant, so you know the quality is going to be great. The authentic Asian cuisine not only tastes incredible, but it is displayed beautifully to ensure you enjoy every aspect of your meal. It is a very popular restaurant, so try to make reservations ahead of time. The rice rolls were great, and of course, the Dim Sum is very tasty too.
